Day 1

Depart USA for Lisbon

Make your way to your local airport, where you will board your overnight flight(s). Your meals will be served on board.

Day 2

Lisbon-Santarum-Fatima

Once we arrive in Lisbon, we will board our motor coach and travel to the old city of Santarem where we will visit the Church of St. Stephen which houses one of the oldest recorded Eucharistic Miracles. Following our visit to this miraculous site, we will board the bus and transfer to Fatima where we will arrive in time for dinner at our hotel.

Day 3

Fatima

We will spend today visiting one of the most famous Marian apparition sites where our Blessed Mother appeared to Lucia, Jacinta and Francesco on numerous occasions in 1917 with an urgent message to pray for world peace. Our day begins with Holy Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions where the Virgin Mary first appeared on May 13, 1917. Following Mass, our tour of Fatima begins at the beautiful neoclassical church, the Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima which contains the tombs of Francisco and Jacinta, as well as, a monument commemorating the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Then, we will continue to the hamlet of Aljustrel, the home of the three shepherd children and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's August 1917 apparition. That evening, we will have an opportunity to participate in the Rosary and candlelight procession as requested by Our Lady. And finally, we will enjoy dinner and overnight in Fatima.

Day 4

Fatima – Coimbra – Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast we will depart Fatima and go to Coimbra and visit the old quarter and the Carmelite Monastery where Sr. Lucia lived until her death in 2005. We will celebrate Holy Mass in the chapel where Sr. Lucia prayed. Then we will board our motorcoach and travel to Santiago de Compostela for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast, we can start our tour of the Pilgrim's Way. For those who are able, we will walk from Avenida de los Concheiros to Cruz de San Pedro and on to Puerta del Carmen, Rua Casa Reales to Azabacheria and on to the Cathedral. Upon arrival, we will visit the Shrine of St. James where, according to legend, the bones of the Apostle St. James the Great (Santiago), brother of the Evangelist John, were transported to Spain after his martyrdom in AD 44 and placed at the site of the Cathedral in the year 813. Hotel-Dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Santiago de Compostela – Covadonga – Ribadedeva

After breakfast we will enjoy a beautiful drive through the Picos de Europa in the Asturias region of Spain that culminates at the Sanctuary and Basilica of Covadonga, shrine to Our Lady, the Virgin of Covadonga. Here we will celebrate Holy Mass. After lunch we will travel through the scenic countryside to our hotel in Ribadedeva located in a private cove on the ocean for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Ribadedeva - Garabandal

After breakfast our guide will show us the village of Garabandal where on June 18, 1961 four children allegedly had an apparition of an angel sent to prepare the children for a visit from the Virgin Mary. From July 2, 1961 until Nov 13, 1965, the Blessed Virgin sporadically visited them, speaking, guiding, and confiding secrets of future events. Our priest will celebrate Mass here. After Mass you will have time to climb the hill to the pines where you may enjoy quiet time for prayer and reflection. We will return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Ribadedeva – Loyola – Lourdes

After breakfast we will proceed to Loyola, the birthplace of St. Ignatius, founder of the Jesuits. We will visit the 17th century Basilica dedicated to St. Ignatius. We will also visit the family home of St Ignatius and pray at the room where St Ignatius was brought following his serious wounding at the Battle of Pamplona. We will then continue on to our hotel in Lourdes for dinner. After dinner, you may join in the candlelight procession, recitation of the Rosary, and the singing of hymns to honor the Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Days 9 & 10

Lourdes

Over the next two days, we will wake up in a small town that is nestled within the Pyrenees Mountains. During our time in Lourdes, we will pray and meditate at yet another site of Our Lady's apparitions. Our Lady first appeared to Bernadette in 1858, and announced herself as "The Immaculate Conception", near the Grotto of Massabielle. Our Lady emphasized God's love for us, penance and the necessity of performing acts of penance for sinners. Throughout our time in Lourdes, we will have the opportunity to attend Mass at the Grotto where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette; watch a video presentation of the story of Lourdes; drink water from the miraculous spring that has healed many and submerge ourselves in the healing baths. We will have an opportunity to see Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette; and the "Cachot," an abandoned prison where Bernadette's impoverish family lived. After dinner each night, you may again join in the candlelight procession guided by the Most Holy Rosary.

Day 11

Lourdes - Montserrat

After breakfast we travel through the countryside to the Benedictine Monastary of and venerate the statue of the Black Virgin of Montserrat carved by St Luke around 50AD. St. Ignatius of Loyola made a pilgrimage to Montserrat after being injured in war, and it was soon after that he wrote his famous Spiritual Exercises. Afterwards we will proceed to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Montserrat – Barcelona – USA

After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, we will leave by motor coach and transfer to the Barcelona airport for return flights home.
